After his artist talk at the Happy Dog at Euclid Tavern last week, Jimmy Kuehnle activated one of his inflatable suits, Walking Fish (2009). He blew the suit up at the east end of Uptown Ave, and charted his way across Toby’s Plaza to join the crowds gathered for The Beat. Children tagged along, laughing hysterically. People paused their conversations and dropped what they were doing to gawk and take out their iPhones for pictures.
Walking Fish nestled up against MOCA Cleveland’s glass atrium wall, almost as if trying to make contact with Please, no smash. (2015) the giant inflatable Jimmy installed inside. They were like two long-lost friends, reunited.
