NEW MEDIA EDUCATION MANAGER
The New Media Education Manager is an integral member of MOCA Cleveland's Education Department
whose primary role is to manage our technology-based education programs. Working in a collaborative
environment, this individual will help develop onsite and web-based education programs as well as
assist with web-based audience outreach and development. This individual will also serve as project
manager for certain public education events.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Audio and Video-casts
Working with the Director of Education and
museum curators, assist in defining content, outlining procedures, and coordinating the outsourced technical
production for each season's audio and video-casts.
Edit master recordings to concise 1-2 minute
sound clips and 3-5 minute video clips, upload digital files to the web and digital delivery devices, monitor
and manage the archive of digital audio and video files.
Assist with audience evaluations of seasonal ArtCasts
Web-based Education and Outreach
Work with our outsourced web developer and the
Director of Marketing and Communication to manage education and curatorial web updates and digital archives on a
tiered weekly and bi-weekly basis
Develop content and monitor community dialogue for
MOCA's blog on a weekly basis
Monitor and update MOCA's presence on social
networking and media sites such as FaceBook, MySpace, FlickR, and YouTube.
New Initiatives
Assist with the development of a learning agenda
and related technology plan for MOCA's new building
Research, evaluate, propose, and execute new
education and outreach initiatives as assigned
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as project manager for additional
education programs as assigned
Assist in the conception, planning, execution,
and evaluation of all education programs
Assist with web-based community outreach and
development strategies
EXPERIENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Experience in an education or tech-related field
Strong interest and demonstrable skill in web- and
tech-based communication
Experience producing podcasts, administrating
community blogs, and actively participating in social networking sites preferred
Proficiency in web design and html a plus
NECESSARY SKILLS
Must be an adaptive, creative problem-solver who can
work both independently and collaboratively
Must possess superior writing, communication,
and time management skills
Public speaking ability is desirable
A keen familiarity with contemporary culture is preferred,
but explicit knowledge about contemporary art is not required for this position
