STUDENT TOURS

MAKE MOCA CLEVELAND PART OF THE ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE.
Each year, thousands of teachers and pre-K through college students come to MOCA Cleveland to learn about art, innovation, creativity, and experimentation. The Museum tailors its tours to provide a developmentally-appropriate, meaningful experience to every student.

MOCA Cleveland offers three main types of student tours:

ART + ARCHITECTURE: With equal focus on the building and the exhibitions, Art & Architecture tours consider the objects and ideas in relation to the Museum’s innovative space. Open to Pre-K-12 and college classes; maximum group size: 45; free to K-12.

DEEP DIVE: Each season, MOCA Cleveland’s Education staff identifies key themes and enduring understandings for the exhibitions on view. Teachers may select a tour exploring one of these themes or understandings. Contact Nicole Ledinek for information on current themes. Open to Pre-K-12 and college classes; maximum group size: 45; free to K-12.

SEE + DO: Half tour, half hands-on activity, these 2-hour visits allow students to apply what they learn through creative new expressions using an array of materials and processes. Activities are designed with students in mind; teachers are encouraged to identify a suggested curricular relationship, theme, or learning outcome. Open to Pre-K – 12; maximum group size: 30; fees may apply.

MOCA Cleveland is available for free student tours during all public hours. Hands-on activities may have fees and limited group size. All school visits must book tours at least three weeks in advance. Bus subsidies may be available.

Additionally, the Museum offers exclusive access to the museum to K-12 groups Tuesday through Friday from 9 - 11am through our ExSCHOOLsive Hours program. For more information, visit the ExSCHOOLsive Hours program page.
