Volunteer at the museum and you can help MOCA connect with people through the art and ideas of our time. MOCA is looking for creative and personable art lovers to support programs, daily operations and beyond. Get behind-the-scenes access to MOCA and share your love and enthusiasm for art with others.

As a volunteer, you’ll place yourself in Cleveland’s cutting edge cultural scene, experience amazing art, attend engaging events, meet interesting people, and learn marketable skills. Volunteers will have the opportunity to work in a variety of areas including visitor engagement, education, development/membership, security, events, and the Museum store.

Daytime and evening hours are available on both a regular and on-call basis during the week and on the weekends.

AVAILABLE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: 

FRONT INTERNATIONAL: NEIGHBORHOOD CONCIERGE

Seeking outgoing individuals, passionate about Cleveland and the arts, to serve as neighborhood concierges during FRONT International: Cleveland Triennial for Contemporary Art. This is the first year for FRONT, and we need you to help answer visitor questions about MOCA exhibitions and programs, the neighborhood, FRONT, and Cleveland! Show off your Cleveland pride and help MOCA visitors have the best possible experience. Requires a warm, professional public presence and excellent customer service skills. Preferred commitment: 3 hour shifts on a weekly basis, with daytime, evening, and weekend hours available.

 

FREE FIRST SATURDAY
 
MOCA Cleveland seeks outgoing, playful, and dedicated volunteers to engage with visitors on our monthly free day, the first Saturday of each month. Volunteers will assist in the Art Studio, greet visitors, and facilitate other activities as needed. Volunteers for Free First Saturday are asked to volunteer 3 times per year.

GALLERY SUPPORT

This summer only! MOCA Cleveland seeks dedicated volunteers to support visitor engagement with select artworks, part of FRONT International: Cleveland Triennial for Contemporary Art. Training provided in advance. Volunteers in this position will receive a private tour through exhibitions with a member of our curatorial department after serving 20 hours. Opportunity only available July 12 - September 30.

MOCA STREET CREW

MOCA Cleveland is creating a dedicated team of volunteers to form our MOCA Street Crew. This special group will help the word out about MOCA exhibitions and programs by distributing materials to hot spots and hangouts throughout the city, sharing MOCA’s social media posts with your network, and generally being ambassadors for the institution. PUBLIC PROGRAMS + EVENTS

Help MOCA host premiere events and programs such as lectures, performances, education programs, and exhibition opening celebrations. Depending on your strengths and interests, there is a volunteer position for you. Welcome guests, check coats, facilitate activities and support gallery attendants

PROGRAM SETUP
 
The planning, marketing, and implementation of MOCA programs play a critical role in the success of an event. Become part of the energetic team that turns a program manager’s vision into reality. Tasks include setting up chairs, tables, and AV equipment.

Physical requirements may include standing for extended periods of time and lifting up to 25 lbs.
