Did you know MOCA offers preK-12 groups free admission, guided tours, and transportation assistance? This short presentation introduces the exSCHOOLsive Hours, teacher resources, utilizing museum education rooms, and how to customize activities to meet your curriculum goals.

Exhibition + Architecture Tour
Explore the inaugural exhibition, Inside Out and From the Ground Up featuring artwork which activates, imagines, or projects into real or imagined space. This inquiry-based tour, led by MOCA educators, demonstrates MOCA’s approach to gallery teaching using the Visual Thinking Strategies method.

Art Handling 101
Caretaker to the art, Kate Montlack, tours the professional art handling areas of the museum. Get to know the hygrothermograph, tip-n-tell, condition reports, and conservation troubleshooting. MOCA’s Registrar, Kate will also share her academic path to this important role within the curatorial department.
SUNDAY / 2:15-3pm
MOCA Cleveland’s iconic new building is viewed through the lens of mathematician Carrie Barnabei, from Montessori High School at UCI, for a guided investigation of the Museum's angles, shapes, volumes, and lines. Open to all but Math and Art educators are especially encouraged to help shape the post-tour discussion to create an integrated lesson.

Middle Schoolers @ MOCA
Art educator at Believe to Achieve Academy, Leslie McCombs, demonstrates activities and lessons, inspired by contemporary art and MOCA’s architecture and drawn from the Core Standards, especially for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Get to know the many ways MOCA is just right for your middle school students.

Symbol of Education (Art Making)
Roll up your sleeves to create a personal expression of the value of teachers in this art production workshop. Led by MOCA educators, teachers discuss their role as teachers, impact on students, and how to stay inspired. Take home and display your artwork as a reminder of the important work you do each day.
