CAN Journal Spring Issue Launch Party
Free + open to all
The quarterly publication of the Collective Arts Network, CAN Journal provides a collaborative voice for Northeast Ohio’s artists, galleries, museums, and related members of Northeast Ohio’s visual arts community. The Spring 2017 issue includes preview articles from dozens of art galleries; sage advice from William Busta on how to be an artist, Barbara Bachtell and Donald Black Jr. on individual artist grants, race, and public benefit; Brittany Mariel Hudak on the latest attack on funding for the National Endowment for the Arts and National Endowment for the Humanities; CAN's Speak up Guide to Arts Advocacy; and the first in a series of stories about efforts to build the local arts economy by drawing buyers from afar.
Readers can look forward to 15 pages of bilingual coverage of the Cleveland Foundation's Creative Fusion Cuba Cohort, which includes residency projects hosted by Collective Arts Network, Cleveland Print Room, Cleveland Urban Design Center of Kent State University, Cleveland Institute of Art, Verb Ballets, and Dance Cleveland.
Museum admission for the exhibitions will be free for the night, so join us for live Afro-Cuban music by the Neil Chastain Trio, complimentary food and a cash bar. Plus pick up a copy of the CAN Journal, hot off the presses.
