PAA Community Hip-Hop Camp
Registration closed - Program at Capacity
July 13-14, 2017 / 9:30am — 4:00pm each day
MOCA Cleveland and Progressive Arts Alliance (PAA) present PAA's Community Hip-Hop Camp for students age 11-18. During this two-day program at MOCA, students will engage in fun, intensive workshops to develop skills in creative writing, dance, music, and visual art. Students receive hands-on introduction to the art forms of hip-hop culture, including DJing, MCing (rapping), break dancing and graffiti art. The camp activities will also integrate content from MOCA’s current exhibition.
This nationally recognized program, a 2016 finalist for the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Awards, shows how hip-hop can be a positive and productive form of creative self-expression.
Students must bring their own lunch. Selected participants will be invited to attend Progressive Arts Alliance's invitation-only 16th annual RHAPSODY Hip-Hop Summer Arts Camp at the Idea Center at PlayhouseSquare held July 31 - August 11, 2017. The camp will feature national guest artists and the opportunity to take your skills to the next level!
All MOCA Cleveland programs are supported in part by the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture, the Cleveland Foundation, the George Gund Foundation, and the continuing support of the Museum’s Board of Directors, patrons, and members.
