
2007 Recipient: Olga Ziemska

Sculptor and installation artist, Olga Ziemska, creates poetic,
mesmerizing works of art that combine her conceptual interests in
the relationship between humans and nature, with her strong material
sensibility. Ziemska received her BFA in sculpture and Printmaking
from the Columbus College of Art and Design in 2000. In 2002, she
received a Fulbright Fellowship to create site-specific sculpture
in Poland. Her work has been exhibited in national and international
galleries, including Sol Koffler Gallery, Providence, Rhode Island;
and Galerie Klanova/Klatovy, Czech Republic, among others. She is
currently a toy designer in Cleveland.

About the Artist
Ziemska received her BFA in Sculpture and Printmaking from the
Columbus College of Art & Design in 2000. In 2002, she received a Fulbright
Fellowship to create site-specific sculpture in Poland. Her work has been exhibited
in galleries including Sol Koffler Gallery, Providence, RI; Galeria Nowych Mediow,
Gorzow Wlkp, Poland; and Galerie Klenova/Klatovy, Klatovy, Czech Republic; among
others. She has been an artist’s assistant for Malcolm Cochran, Sadashi Inuzuka,
and Todd Slaughter, and she has completed a sculptural internship with Patrick
Dougherty. Ziemska is currently a toy designer in Cleveland.
