FREE FIRST SATURDAYS Sponsored by Medical Mutual

July 5, 2014 / 11:00am

FREE to all

First Saturdays are a fun way to get to know MOCA Cleveland. Community art projects on the ground floor provide opportunities to try out art practices explored in the galleries. Pick-up a printed Scavenger Hunt or First Time Visit tour card at the Welcome Center to guide your visit. Connect with the Museum through afternoon Highlights Tours or shorter Target Talks. Don’t miss the ArtSquad Plays Workroom, where families with kids 10 and under get creative with activities, books, and games created by MOCA’s ArtSquad characters, Beauregard and Cherry, who teach kids how to LOOK! THINK! and SHARE! First Saturday’s are always free and have something for all ages to enjoy.

Learn about screen-printing firsthand during your visit to MOCA. This studio gives visitors of all ages the opportunity to work with a facilitator to create a screen or block print using the techniques, colors, and forms that artist Corita Kent used in her work. Guests may drop-in and create a free paper print using a variety of stock images and text, or print upon other items for a small fee. When weather permits, the Printmaking Studio will move outside MOCA’s doors to Toby’s Plaza.
