Free with museum admission, book signing with the author will follow the talk.

Queer Threads: Crafting Identity and Community by John Chaich features an international, intergenerational mix of 30 contemporary artists who explore queer identity by remixing fiber craft traditions as well as the tensions between of art and craft, masculine and feminine, gay and straight. John Chaich will discuss the connections between LGBTQ identity, language, and materiality during this special talk. Dubbed by The New York Times as, “Judiciously racy…taking you places you never thought you and your thimble would go,” Chaich’s 192-page book evolves from a traveling exhibition of the same name that he curated in 2014 at the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay & Lesbian Art in New York City.
