Frank Hewitt (1936, Rutland, VT—1992, Burlington, VT) was an abstract painter who achieved international acclaim for his collaboration with Ed Mieczkowski and Ernst Benkert in the Anonima Group. Hewitt exhibited internationally at Galeria Foksal, Warsaw, Poland; Gallery Denise René, Paris, France; the Krakow Academy of Art, Poland; the Institute of Contemporary Art, London, UK; and ARCI, Cisterno, Italy. Nationally, his work was shown at The Cleveland Museum of Art; Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Institute for Progressive Painting, New York; and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, NY. His work is in public collections at the Museum of Modern Art, Caracas, Venezuela; The Cleveland Museum of Art; Museum Sztuki, Łódź, Poland; and the Robert Hull Fleming Museum, Burlington, VT.
