Julia Christensen (1976, St. Louis, MO) lives and works in Oberlin, OH, where she serves as Assistant Professor of Integrated Media at Oberlin College. She holds a BA in Integrated Art from Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson, NY; an MFA in Electronic Art and Recording Media from Mills College, Oakland, CA; and an MFA in Integrated Electronic Arts from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY. Christensen’s work has been shown at the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; Carnegie Museum of Fine Arts, Pittsburgh; and The Lincoln Center, New York, among others. Her book, Big Box Reuse was published by MIT Press in 2008. The recipient of numerous awards and residencies, in 2013, Christensen earned a prestigious Creative Capital Grant for her new work Project Project.
